“we weren’t just guests coming to stay at their resort – we were family and that warmed us.”

Many years ago, after my father passed, I took my mother on vacation for 2 weeks to the Krystal in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  We both enjoyed ourselves.  The resort was beautiful, the staff exceptional, the food was great, and the weather was perfect.  My Mother had never been to any tropical areas, and she loved it.  I talked to the vacation resort people and I purchased 2 weeks for 25 years.  My mother was thrilled.  This was mine and her vacation for many years to come.  What I enjoyed most about the resort, was the way they welcomed you – like you were part of their family.  They treated my Mother like she was a queen.

They always made sure we were on the ground floor so she didn’t have to go up and down stairs, always made sure we had a beautiful view of the ocean (my mother stayed in a lot – not really the party animal any longer).  When ever we were walking around the resort, they would always stop and ask if she would like a ride.  One evening we were going to Bogarts for dinner and they drove us right to their front door so she didn’t have to walk and they also arranged to pick her up after dinner.  That really impressed me.  I’ve been to a lot of resorts, since I love to travel, but I’ve never been to one that cared about people, we weren’t just guests coming to stay at their resort – we were family and that warmed us.  My mother has since passed away but I know that her time spent at the Krystal was most precious to her.
