“Perfection at its Best!” Krystal International Vacation Club - Jerry and Pat Logan Where else could you find old-world charm combined with beautiful modern amenities and wonderful Mexican hospitality? Perfection at its best! This is the Krystal International Vacation Club (KIVC). Where else but Puerto Vallarta (PV), Mexico. Come and see for yourself - acres of pristine beauty overlooking the majestic Pacific Ocean in the Bay of Banderas. We’ve been members of KIVC for the past 10 years, some of the best years of our lives. We look forward to our winter vacation each year when we get to spend our days relaxing in tranquil warm sunshine surrounded by sparkling blue water. What was the most enticing aspect of our purchase those 10 years ago? We felt we got to experience a small part of real Mexican culture with adobe streets throughout the resort, spacious and beautifully landscaped grounds, the perfect location right in the middle of the hotel zone, and the wonderful and helpful staff many of whom have become our good friends. And of course we cannot forget to mention all the pools especially the largest pool overlooking the ocean and the peaceful pool in the Aqueduct area. And, we love to try our Spanish on the local Mexicans who are always willing to try and help us out with our words. We have seen many changes in those ten years. All of them to our advantage and our pleasure while also increasing the value of our timeshare. We upgraded our timeshare once the villa’s were remodeled and are so glad we did that. We have seen several restaurants come and go but some of the best have remained and great new ones added. The large palapa overlooking the ocean is always there for delicious lunch and dinner buffets and by far the best breakfast around. The swim-up bar/restaurant and most recently the remodeled Japanese/sushi restaurant with twinkling lights in the trees which at night creates a mesmerizing and romantic atmosphere is a unique dining experience. The new Italian restaurant, fitness center, childcare center and hotel are awesome additions. The hotel overlooking the ocean with 9 hot tubs next to the hotel is wonderful. The Krystal is the best place to sit peacefully and watch the sunset over this spectacular ocean, go whale watching, horse-back riding, parasailing, snorkeling, fishing, try your hand at bingo, karaoke, fitness in the pool, shopping for special Mexican crafts or just walking along the peaceful sandy beach at sunset. In case you are wondering if the Krystal is all tranquil and peaceful (in other words a little “boring”) you can’t be more mistaken. Adventurous fun is a good way to describe our time in PV over the years. One especially fun adventure took us to the edge of PV and back by bus. The bus boards right outside the Krystal and we decided one day to visit a “real” Mexican restaurant in the small town of Ixtapa. We boarded the bus right at rush hour and the bus was so crowded we had to sit several rows away from each other. The people kept getting on the bus through the front door as well as the back door of the bus. The people getting on the back of the bus passed their bus fare through the hands of all the riders until it reached the bus driver and of course the driver passed the change back the same way. We thought we knew when to get off the bus but with our limited knowledge of the Spanish language, were too timid to ask for directions. We rode, and rode and rode until we found ourselves to be the last two people on the bus along with one other person who happened to be Mexican. What a nice Mexican man he was because he knew we were lost and directed us to another bus waiting to make the return trip to PV. While this trip was a little unnerving because we weren‘t sure we would ever get back to the Krystal, we laugh every time we talk about it. It was a most interesting experience to see how the local Mexican people live outside of the tourist areas. We reached our final destination (a two hour trip that normally takes 15-20 minutes) and were of course extremely hungry. We had a scrumptious dinner in an open-air restaurant along with what else - chickens roaming throughout the restaurant mingling with the guests. Only in Mexico!! We are thankful that we were at the Krystal those many years ago, purchased our timeshare and have loved every minute of our experiences at the Krystal and in Puerto Vallarta. We have shared this wonderful resort with many family and friends and have made friends from all over the world, some of whom we see each winter when we come back for warmth and sunshine. Come to Puerto Vallarta and in particular the Krystal resort for a visit - we would love to share this wonderful resort with you. And I bet you will just want to make this your winter home too! |
