Krystal Memories from the Serrano-Fenske Family
For the past 30 years my family and I have enjoyed many vacations in Cancun, Mexico. Almost 15 years ago, my family became members of the Krystal and we have enjoyed yearly trips (some years bi-yearly) since that time. We chose the Krystal due to its ideal location and smaller facility. We felt the Krystal would provide our family with a more private atmosphere, ensure the best customer service due to its manageable size and best overall vacation experience!
I was no older than 15 years of age when my family became members of the Krystal. Since then I have collected a treasure trove of family vacation memories from these numerous vacations. Being an only child, my vacation experience varied greatly on each of these trips. On some vacations, I would invite close girlfriends to come with; as I grew older I would invite my boyfriend at that time. On a few occasions it ended up being just my parents and I providing us a more intimate family experience. Regardless of the travelers, the constant on all our trips was our exceptional experience in Cancun, at the Krystal specifically. Amazingly enough, throughout the course of all these years, the staff watched me grow up, and upon each return visit greeted me by name and always with their warm affection. Considering how many vacationers they meet each day/each year, it always made me and my family feel so special that they remembered us. This is just one example of what makes the Krystal stand out from the other resorts which we had visited prior to becoming members. Whether it be the wait staff at the bars or restaurants, the on-site activity director or the housekeeping staff, they all contribute to an ambience of friendliness and care for their patrons. Additionally, you cannot beat the prime location of the Krystal. Located within walking distance to the malls, restaurants and night clubs you cannot ask for a better or safer location.
Looking back throughout all our years at the Krystal, two very special memories come to mind in particular. Unknowingly, the first memory would lead me to the second memory years later.
Upon first becoming members, I witnessed a wedding at sunset which was held at the famous pillars/Seven Columns of the Krystal. Being a young girl at that time, I decided right then and there that I too would marry some day in front of the Seven Columns. Since witnessing that wedding years ago from the balcony of our room it became my idea of a dream wedding. Four years ago, I met my now husband and when he proposed to me I instantly knew where we would be wed. The vision of that wedding years prior came to my mind and although he had never been to the Krystal or Cancun all I had to do was explain to him the importance of this magical place from my childhood through adulthood. My parents generously agreed to this location (although we live in Colorado, USA) and took great pride and happiness in providing me with my dream wedding in our most favorite and meaningful place. With one year to plan this special event, we contacted the Krystal for their help in planning and coordinating our special day. Our event coordinator (Evelyn) was fabulous. She made everything easy and helped ease my worries while planning this wedding from a distance. On December 30th, 2008 my husband and I were married infront of the Seven Columns at the Krystal, the beautiful waters of Cancun as our silent witness alongside our 33 friends and family who traveled from afar to join us in our celebration. It was one of the best days of my life!
The Krystal has served our family with a variety of memories from the most relaxing and simple to the most joyous and meaningful. My husband and I are expecting our first child due in April and we are already planning a special vacation for 2010 at the Krystal to enjoy with my parents and our new baby girl. A new set of memories for our family will begin; three generations worth of continued happiness and fun at the Krystal… need I say more?
